Stop dreading working with older adults with memory loss. Get a roadmap to navigating memory loss when it presents in therapy.

You will be seeing more older adults in your therapy practice, but if you're like most therapists, you haven't had training to meet the cognitive needs of older adults.

As a result...

>> You may be quick to refer older adults out. But wait a minute, there is no therapist to refer them to, so you see them and constantly second guess the care you provide.

>> You wonder if the cognitive changes that you're seeing in older clients are normal or something to be concerned about.

>> You're concerned that the cognitive changes aren't normal, and spend hours of time trying to figure out how to help your client get to the right place. With a constant back and forth.

>> You're stuck in a bind with family members asking you for help and resources, but don't know what to recommend. So, you spend your breaks searching online for answers.

What Students Are Saying About "Dementia Basics for Therapists" Course

"Dr. Koepp is phenomenally knowledgeable in this topic area. The examples used were relatable, applicable and relevant to my current practice and life and ill vastly expand how I am able to assist several clients. Her presentation was culturally responsive to the needs of my clientele."

"Really enjoyed this training - was interested in content because I knew I didn't know what I needed to know but feel much more aware of working with folks and who/how to partner with caregivers or community entities to provide best levels of care if needed"

"A clear understanding of what to look for in changes of the brain that is a-typical, how to approach treatment with a client exhibiting these brain changes, resources for the caregiver and understanding of their process. This gives me more confidence in working with caregivers and the geriatric population that is growing."

I'm so glad you're here!

I'm Dr. Regina Koepp. I'm a Stanford-trained, board certified clinical psychologist, and founder of the Center for Mental Health & Aging. For close to 20 years, I’ve worked with older adults and their families in some of the most prominent healthcare systems in the nation, like Stanford, Emory, the Veterans Health Administration, and University of Vermont Medical Center

I’ve experienced first hand the difficulty of helping older adults and caregivers find mental health providers trained to help them. In fact, the vast majority of older adults with mental health concerns DO NOT get the mental health care they need, resulting in worse medical problems, higher health care costs, family strain, and needless suffering.

I created the Dementia Basics for Therapists course to ensure that you have the tools you need to treat the mental health needs of older adults in your care.

It's only with your help that we can meet the mental health needs of older adults and caregivers. So, thank you for being here and doing your part!
