You'll be seeing more older adults in your clinical practice...
But if you're like most clinicians or therapists, you were never trained in dementia disorders—yet you may be the first professional your clients turn to when memory changes begin.
Without the right knowledge, you may:
→ Misattribute memory concerns to “normal aging”
→ Miss opportunities for early detection
→ Feel uncertain about when or how to refer for evaluation
→ Find yourself googling between sessions trying to find answers, but still left uncertain
Addressing Memory Loss in Therapy Doesn't Have To Be a Struggle
After this one hour webinar, you'll be able to:
✅ Differentiate mild cognitive impairment from dementia
✅ Recognize the link between mental health conditions and dementia disorders
✅ Communicate the benefits (and limits) of a dementia evaluation
✅ Provide a clear roadmap for next steps—without leaving your client or their family in limbo

I'm so glad you're here!
One of the most common questions I hear from therapists is:
“What do I do when a client starts describing memory loss? Is this just normal aging—or something more serious that deserves a medical workup? And how do I guide them without causing alarm or missing something important?”
That’s exactly why I created this training—and the live-only bonuses that go with it.
This webinar gives you the clarity and tools to respond with confidence when memory loss walks into the therapy room—so you can feel fully equipped, and your clients can feel fully supported.

This isn’t just another CE training—it’s a movement toward better mental health care for older adults.
By 2034, there will be more adults 65 and older than children under the age of 18. As a result of the population growing older, therapists will be seeing more older adults in their therapy practice than ever before. With the most common mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, insomnia, PTSD, and severe mental illness) increasing the risk for dementia disorders, therapists will be navigating early signs of memory loss in their practice. Thus, It’s imperative that every mental health provider have a basic understanding of dementia disorders, the connection between mental health conditions and dementia disorders, and tools to provide support to older adults presenting to therapy with memory loss.
In this lively workshop, participants will learn the difference between mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease as well as unique considerations for BIPOC and LGTBQ+ older adults.
The link between common mental health conditions and dementia disorders, the pros and cons of dementia evaluation, and the benefits of early diagnosis of dementia will be explored. Participants will receive a roadmap for referrals for dementia evaluation.
- 1. Provide therapists and mental health providers with essential knowledge about cognitive changes in older adulthood, including the distinctions between mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.
- 2. Equip clinicians to recognize the connection between common mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, substance use, PTSD, and insomnia) and increased risk for dementia disorders, thereby strengthening case conceptualization and treatment planning.
- 3. Highlight the clinical importance of early recognition of memory loss, including benefits of early dementia diagnosis, considerations for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ older adults, and strategies for initiating appropriate referrals.
- 4. Offer a practical roadmap for therapists to support older adults with memory loss, including five actionable steps for referral, psychoeducation, and therapeutic support that respect client autonomy and cultural diversity.
